What it's all about

things that make absolutely no sense.

you know how sometimes something has been "waiting" to be done for so long at your house, that it kind of starts seeming like it's normal?

like when we were redoing the closet in my dressing room i found this big pile of random pieces of wood in the back of the closet (only at our house)... so we moved it into the music room so we could paint the closet, etc., but now like three months later that random pile of wood is still sitting on top of billy's amp in the music room.  it's been there for so long it kind of seems normal now?

so, i have this thing for clocks.  not as big as the bird thing, but i really like clocks.
we have a few in the house.

in the dining room:

in the great room:

in the front guest bedroom:

in finn's room:

i took all of these pictures at the same time.

every single clock in our house is wrong.

except for this one:

the clock radio on my bedside table.
yes it is actually a "clock radio".
remember when they used to be called that?
i have no idea where it came from, or how we got it, but it is definitely older than i am.
and it is hideous.
and matches nothing in our house.
but it tells the right time.

i have no idea why we haven't replaced the batteries in the four other clocks in our house.
although it does explain why billy and i are typically running late.

i don't think these clocks have ever worked.  i think if they actually told the right time at this point i wouldn't believe it anyway.
they are more like art than clocks.
does that justify not taking the time to replace a few batteries?
(get it, we didn't take the "time"...) hehe. that was awful.
no, it probably doesn't.

i could probably change some batteries when our baby is doing this:

or when he's doing this:

but i don't.
i take pictures of him and write blogs about not changing the batteries instead.
things that make absolutely no sense.

You make sense!!! Love Finn as a slug-in-a-bag. That's how I'll be carting him around tomorrow.
