What it's all about

switch it, change it, a-rearrange it!

what a clever cheerleading title! hehe.

i was looking for rugs online at ikea the other day and was inspired by some of their design pictures.  it made me realize that our couch doesn't have to be mounted against a wall.  you can switch things up to make it look more updated.  so that's what we did!

after a little room re-arrange we also decided to paint the doors in the great room.  not the whole door, but just parts of it so that the depth and details are more appreciated.

here is what our great room looked like "before":

and here's what it looks like "after":

and no, it wasn't nighttime in the "before" picture... look at the light outside the windows!  it was just THAT dark in there.  i think the white paint on the doors really brightened it up a bit.  what do you think?

i can't believe painting part of the doors made that big of a difference! it looks great! and it's a nudging towards painting the walls like you wanted. way to compromise! it's definitely brighter in there now.

Wow! So, do you think you'll leave the walls the way they are? The paint on the doors did so much to brighten it up and give it character...and the seating is much more intimate now. You are a busy bee!
